Sweetie Dolls

The girls and I love playing Pet Society by Playfish. They strongarmed me into making Sweetie dolls with them... They also want Otis dolls (to come). Check out the other post to see the Fluff War that erupted!

Fluff War Erupts!

It was terrible! Fluff flying everywhere! Grace decided to hurl fluff at Olivia while they were 'helping' make the Sweetie dolls.... You can see how helpful it was!

Home Depot, Chic

Well, we finally got around to checking out the Home Depot classes for kids. A long time ago (when I was pregnant with Olivia!), friends with older kids (was it you, Beth?) told us about the classes. It always sounded cool, and I couldn't wait to have my kids do it, too. It worked out well that when we got around to it, they both were old enough to participate. (Children between 5-12 years can participate.)

It is free and fun.

The girls made wheelbarrow plant holders. They enjoyed sanding, hammering and painting their creations. Once we add the plants, I'll post the pictures here.

:) Enjoy

PS. Grace loves her apron so much, she wears it everywhere. She also was inpspired to make a 'super car.' She says it is a car with super powers to save people. She made it from a box, lids and tissue.

Tiny Tinsmithing

The girls enjoyed tinsmithing at Old Sturbridge Village. It was a great day. There weren't a lot of people (or at least the town is big enough that it doesn't feel crowded!).

They enjoyed a hands-on craft exhibit where you can punch holes into cards to mimic lantern designs, magnetic shapes for "painting," 3-d puzzles, and tinsmithing. The tinsmithing project was small and do-able. I think this could be done with supplies from the craft store... I'll let you know!

Mug Painting: Post 1

We were painting mugs today. (See Olivia mugn' for the camera!) We'll finish up tomorrow (maybe...) and then I'll post pictures of the finished mugs. The girls had fun. Grace did about 15 redos! Luckily, the paint washes off until you bake it... We'll bake them tomorrow. Great kit! We got them at TJMaxx. Cheap and fun!
