Tools & Supplies: Perler beads (approx. 200 red, 50 orange, 20 black, 10 white), Perler bead board (approx. 5inX5in), Iron, Wax paper, Patience
1. Separate the colors into piles (it will totally make your life easier... and if you're doing the project with a 4 year old, it is a great pre-project...)
2. On a stable surface (you'll be sorry if it is a wobbly table!) place your perler board flat and have the bead supplies in easy reach, but away from whichever hand you use... you'll drag your sleeve a million times, otherwise!)

3. Use the pattern pictured below to count and place the colored beads.
4. Grown up: Place wax paper over the perler board with beads, apply a hot iron (I'm still trying to decide whether hot or very hot is better!).
5. When you see the beads have fused together, remove heat and let cool (it does it quickly).
6. Peel wax paper off... Voila! A Cardinal-like birdy!
Each side has its own quirky cuteness. You decide which you like!
We stick them in windows so that we have birds every day... Enjoy!
